At last - Affordable PC Silence!
Using Nofan’s revolutionary Set-A40 as a starting point, we are proud to offer the IcePipe A40-Z68 Silent PC which is a fully-built silent PC system, ready to go. It uses Nofan’s unique IcePipe processor cooler for no noise, no dust, no moving parts and no maintenance. The machine can be configured to your exact specification and offers, as you would expect, totally silent operation.
Top Performance and Reliability
The PC itself doesn’t compromise on performance, and can be built pre-installed with up to 16 gigabytes of memory and one of Intel’s 3rd Generation Core processors. Famous for their excellent performance/value balance, the Ivy Bridge processors have a quad-core architecture and under heavy loading, will automatically “Turbo Boost” their clock speed by up to 12%. We also offer the incredibly-priced Pentium G620 processor for cost-conscious customers. Regarding memory, although Microsoft Windows 7 will run on 2GB, unless you are on a serious budget, we recommend a minimum of 4GB to ensure that the machine has plenty to spare and will always offer excellent responsiveness even when running multiple applications simultaneously. We are now offering our systems with Ubuntu Linux pre-installed, and again we would recommend a minimum of 4GB for this operating system to perform at its best.
The motherboard is a Gigabyte “UD” (Ultra-Durable) series model which uses two ounces of copper for both the power and ground layers, as well as 50,000-hour lifespan Japanese solid capacitors and low-resistance MOSFET components. This approach is designed to improve stability and long-term reliability of the motherboard which is, after all, the heart of the machine.

Clean Build™ Promise
The price of many pre-built PCs these days is often supported by cash kickbacks from software companies who pay hardware manufacturers to pre-install limited or trial versions of their software and then hope that the customer pays to upgrade to the full version. The downside to this approach is that the new PC comes pre-loaded with a lot of “junkware” which bloats the operating system and can cause severe performance degradation.
Here at Quiet PC we believe that customers have every right to expect the best possible performance from a brand new PC, so every system we build comes with our Clean Build™ promise. We install the operating system (if you order one), motherboard drivers, OS updates and (for Windows 7 only) Microsoft Security Essentials - that’s it. You won’t be pestered by pop-ups and nag screens and you can get on with using your new PC immediately without having to uninstall lots of junkware first. Your new machine will boot in super-quick time and will stay running quickly for many months and years to come.
Free hardware support and fully inclusive warranty
We offer free hardware technical support for as long as you own the machine. This support covers any hardware query or problem, including advice on maintenance and upgrades. We regret we can’t offer software support or training so we would recommend contacting the software vendor in this instance. Support for Ubuntu can be obtained through online forums, or on a commercial basis from Canonical Ltd.
Our hardware warranty runs for two years and is “collect and return” meaning that you don’t need to worry about getting the machine back to us - we will instruct our courier to collect it from you on a day of your choosing, then after we have checked and repaired it we will send it back to you by express courier at our expense. In addition, unlike many other PC suppliers, we have an “open-case” policy which means you are free to open the machine and perform your own minor modifications or upgrades without worrying that your warranty might be affected.

The Nofan IcePipe A43-Z68 is truly silent and boasts a quality build, a streamlined OS installation along with a commendable after-sales service.
If you need a truly silent PC for whatever reason – home recording perhaps, or a work machine, with no distraction factor or if you’re particularly noise sensitive – then the IcePipe A43-Z68 really delivers.
Quiet Mark
…Users will not be aware of any noise emissions. Noise generated by the monitor, for example, normally not considered to be a noisy item, is considerably louder than the PC itself during the boot cycle.
Computer Music
Anyone tired of purring fans and grinding hard drives will be interested… the impressive IcePipe cooler in the middle of the Nofan A43-H67 system gets rid of heat noiselessly.

Silent desktop
The product is completely silent indeed. Something really refreshing on the market. The only device I can hardly hear is HDD. Boot time is incredibly quick - up to 10 s. Cooling system seems to be working perfectly fine. Cores temperature does not rise above 60 C even when multitasking. Truly remarkable. No criticism at the moment. Communication with the company staff is positive - always willing to help. There is a price-quality trade off. Whoever wants to acquire truly silent and high end desktop (Windows Experience Index 7.4 out of 7.8), one must be ready to pay a bit more. Highly recommended. Thank you.
Silence Really is Golden
The NoFan PC has enabled me to reach my long-dreamt-of goal - total silence in the office. I spend many hours a day using PCs so any improvement in my work environment makes a big difference to me. Previous PC’s had lots of QuietPC goodies attached and succeeded in dramatic reductions in sound levels but nonetheless, when shutting down, there was a definite “aaahhh” moment when the fans go quiet and you realise how the background noise had gradually increased as the fans work harder to cope with elevated temperatures.
So, the NoFan: as noted by others it’s a bit odd at first and your brain compensates by “inventing” noise. The build quality is good and cabling is neat. I particularly like the front-mounted snap-in caddies for SSD’s. The only noise now emanates from the BluRay drive - a fluttering sound when accessing a disk - it’s almost inaudible but when it is active I now think “what a confounded racket”!
The CPU heat sink is large and works well (I have 16GB RAM and the fast i7 CPU). In the recent cold snap I had a wood-burning stove going full bore and overdid it - the temperature in the office was absolutely sweltering - so much so that my Apple iMac locked-up but the NoFan sailed on regardless. However herein lies the only significant criticism - the CPU heat sink is so large that it covers the highest-speed PCIe connector on the motherboard, rendering it unusable. My setup has four HD monitors so I need two double-connector PCIe graphics cards (I chose ASUS EN210 silent). Because these cards have large passive heat sinks they cannot occupy adjacent PCIe slots so I thought for a moment that I was stuffed - I could only have one ASUS, gulp. However, the NoFan onboard motherboard graphics has two connectors so I used those in conjunction with one ASUS and …. perfect. It seems that Windows is not bothered that the two graphics chipsets are different, the four-screen wall works seamlessly. (The onboard graphics can drive two monitors in full HD via one digital and one analog connection.) Because I’m using the system for software development I’m not bothered about high performance 3D graphics and so this configuration is more than adequate.
If you can deal with the one missing PCI slot, this system is solid, fast, well-built (I had the system within four working days of order) and totally, eerily and wonderfully silent. Trust me, you don’t know what you are missing until you give it a go. Best thing I have purchased in ages: nice one QuietPC.
A monster of a PC
Build quality of this machine is excellent, it’s fast and (when running off SSD) completely silent. The only thing that lets it down for high-end gaming is the graphics card options, which are decidedly mid-range. However, graphics is always the price you pay for passive cooling, and that component can be easily upgraded as lower-power higher-speed cards come out. The case is a cramped on the inside with only 3 harddrive slots, but it is built like a tank and easy to get into.
Finally a fan free, quiet high specification system
Very impressed with both the service from Quiet PC and the NoFen Nofan system. I specified a number of custom requirements for the system for both the hardware and software configuration which were all handled expertly. The system was delivered on time, packaged well and most importantly the system is near silent (bar the dvd and I opted for sata in hd enclosures rather than Solid state).
Quiet and very fast
This is how an internet business should be, fantastic communications and great products. I’ll be back for more!
The best ever - totally and absolutely silent!
I’ve spent nearly eleven thousand pounds on goods from Quiet PC over the last few years and it’s fair to say I’ve not found a more knowledgeable or helpful company. I’ve had some excellent PCs in that time including several water cooled machines. Until now, the best ever was a Zalman TNN 500 based machine which was as close to silent as possible but it was still audible (just) if you stuck your ear next to it and anyway they don’t make the case anymore.
This PC is not audible at all! It is eerily silent. I now have four PCs running in my office and the loudest noise is the cat purring. It is what I’ve dreamed of for more than ten years (sad isn’t it).
I can’t recommend this PC highly enough, if you are serious about silence it’s worth every penny!
